The Focal Porn of the Issue

Friday again. This week has flown by. It amazes me how the days go by so fast. I can sit in the library for two or three hours and it feels like twenty minutes. Since my life as of late has become so repetitive, I don’t feel like there are many “exciting” or “interesting” things that happen to me or even that I am fortunate enough to observe. In a way, it was the same when I worked at Hill, but even when I was working, the work day was over at 4pm and the rest of the day was left for doing things that normal people do. Here, in law school, it’s sleep, study, eat, study, sleep. However, since I’ll be beating that schedule like a dead and mostly decomposed horse for the next three years, I’ll try to elaborate on the small things that, while not tantalizingly interesting, are all I’ve got.
Professor CivPro had a bit of a slip yesterday in Civil Procedure. Whenever he gets really into a specific topic, he will slowly pace back and forth and look at the ground while he’s thinking. He’ll peer over at his notes on the lectern and hold his fist to his lips while he thinks. Then he’ll start pacing again and without looking at the person, he’ll ask someone specific about a small detail of the case we’re discussing. He was doing this while the class was very quiet, listening intently to what he had to say. “Miss Talinni, what is...the focal porn...” He stopped. Looked up at the class, then said, “Oh, yeah. “focal porn.” Good job.” and gave a thumbs up. We were all laughing. It’s not so funny to read. But it was funny at the time.
Professor Contracts said the other day, “Asking unfair and unclear questions is my job.”
Professor Torts said, “Shame on you [the class] for not having economics classes in undergrad!”
I got some new tires for my bike this week. They are much lighter than my old tires and noticeably so. They spin up faster and roll easier. I rode the other tires over 3500 miles and never complained because I didn’t know the difference. It’s like I got a new bike when I put the new tires on.

...that's funny. I seem to remember focal porn being a 'plague in our day', a poisonous trap that ensnares even the elect. I can see the two thumbs up reaction from your prof. Is Prof CivPro related to the former HardCore band front man, Anthony Civarelli (Civ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIV_%28band%29?
